International Network of Alternative Financial Institutions (INAFI):
A global Network of microfinance practitioners, committed to poverty reduction through microfinance interventions. 25 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) founded the Network . The figure has grown to more than 320 in June 2008; the member organizations (MOs), i.e. NGO-MFIs, cooperatives and networks, represent 48 countries (50 members from Africa, coming from 24 countries) Asia (75 members from 6 countries) and Latin America. (200 in 18 countries) with :
- Collective reach of Network of more than 25 million clients and combined portfolio of around US$ 7.3 Billion in credit and US$ 2,5 Billion savings.
- Diverse organizational structure, legal frameworks, geographic coverage, scale of operations, methodologies, and product range.
- Shared commitment to serving the poor, particularly the most vulnerable segments of the population through financial services.
